"The mind searches, the heart finds"

Brenda Akoma

Career coach / Second track programme counselor / TMA talent professional

“A few years ago, I was confronted with the situation that my dream job as a manager in youth care ceased to exist. This led to confusion, anger, and sadness. I didn’t know how to continue”

Fortunately, after a while, I saw a new perspective. I was able to reflect and reconnect with my own strength. I knew again what gives me job satisfaction!

I decided to focus on supporting employees with career questions. That also gave me a lot of satisfaction as a manager. I felt that I could really use my talents. I started as a mobility advisor where I guided employees who, like me, were often forced to look for other work, and also followed a post-graduate course to become a career coach.

When I finished my education, I started my own practice as a career coach in addition to my work as an employee. I am also an aromatherapist. As an aromatherapist I work with essential oils that can be beneficial on a physical and emotional level.

Having my own business has helped me to be more energetic, happy and powerful in life. Engaging in development and growth, how beautiful is that!

As you have read, my last name is ‘Akoma’. ‘Akoma’ is the symbol of the heart ♡ and signifies patience and tolerance. These are also core values for me. My intuition is an important compass, the heart knows the way. My coaching is focused on self-management. So that you can take the desired steps independently and inspired, with the insights you have acquired, to find or keep a suitable job.

We shape the process together. I will ask you to complete assignments and tests. If desired and of added value, I also use my dog (a Labradoodle). As a coach I am committed, intuitive, calm, curious, open, practical, warm and result-oriented. It’s your journey, so you’re at the centre of the coaching.

I joined Dynamisch Bureau because it is a great next step in my development for me. My wish is more entrepreneurship and less paid employment. In addition, I enjoy working with colleagues despite my self-employment. I think it is important to be able to exchange and learn from each other. That way I get the best out of myself and I can best use it to support my coachees optimally!”
